Carine Davila, MD, MPH
Physician Investigator
Dr. Davila is a research faculty member at the Mongan Institute Center for Aging and Serious Illness and a palliative care physician at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Davila is passionate about improving access and quality palliative care for historically marginalized populations. She serves as Equity Director for the Division of Palliative Care and Geriatric Medicine at MGH, co-created the palliative care integrated health equity curriculum, and co-leads MGB’s United Against Racism efforts to reduce disparities in serious illness communication for marginalized communities. Her current research focuses on understanding the communication experiences of seriously ill Latino Spanish speaking patients, clinicians, and interpreters to design interventions with the goal of improving the serious illness communication experience for Spanish-speaking patients.
